Ampt Productions is a Brisbane based independent production house that promotes several successful underground electronic music parties and has looked after the technical requirements on some of the largest gigs ever staged in SE Qld.

Drawing on many years experience within the ‘Live Events’ and ‘Corporate Audio Visual Industry’ Ampt Productions has set the standards of production for the local scene by bringing a previously unseen level of professionalism and technical initiative to their events. Everything Ampt does in derived from in-house resources, meaning that all animations, set designs, lighting plots are 100% original and all technical work is completed by trained ‘techies’ within the Ampt ranks. Ampt strives to provide it’s revellers with a seamless production free of technical dramas and a unique experience by syncing aural and visual together.

What exactly is it that Ampt does?? Ampt Productions have the resources and experience to look after the whole event for clubs, promoters and organisations. The Ampt name is most synonymous with the ‘Phunk You’ series of parties – the ‘Meat Katie + Lee Coombs’ double header held in Dec 07 is commonly regarded as one of the best and most successful independent parties ever held in Brisbane, closely followed by the Ampt party as part of the ‘Valley Fiesta Weekender Bender’ at the Shamrock (now Step Inn) also featuring Meat Katie. Ampt also promote the psy storm known as ‘Krishna Kuts’ and the multi faceted ‘Phunk This, Phunk That’ and over the last 6 years has promoted shows for Layo + Bushwacka, Elite Force, Meat Katie (x2), Lee Coombs (x2), Martinez, Habersham, Jono Fernandez, Phil K, Dopamine, Klaus Hill, Endorphin and the best of the local scene, they have also looked after the technical production for the following artists/at the following events Infected Mushroom, Earthcore (Drop/Liquidbass/Ampt stage), Michael Mayer, Deetron, James Holden, Kid Kenobi, Paolo Mojo, Steve Porter, Desyn Masiello, Luke Fair, Jimmy Van M, Sidechain events, Logic events, Drop parties, Breaks n Enter and Drop.

The Ampt Productions Team:

Tim Connor – currently works as a senior technician for one of Australias largest and most respected audio visual production companies after learning his trade with one of Australias biggest Lighting companies. Tim was a founder of Ampt and specialises in lighting designs and ‘the look’ but is also very apt in dealing with both video and sound. He also looks after much of the ‘behind the scenes’ work like liaising with and booking artists/agents/venues and video editing etc

Ralphie (Paul Connolly) – worked within corporate audio visual industry in both Australia and UK for the last 8 years. Skilled video technician who in later years has worked as both a project manager and technical manager organising extremely large and high profile shows. Ralphie was one of the founders of Ampt and works in the technical video department, helps with the booking/sourcing of artists and DJs as part of ‘the schoolyard dope fiends’

Dean Ramsay – by day works as a head surveyor travelling all around this sunburnt country, Dean (another founder) works within most facets of Ampt, looking after and assisting with the booking of artists, musical programming for the nights, set design, lighting, video mixing and especially keeping everyone smiling. Dean is also the central figure of the Ampt DJ collective, ‘the schoolyard dope fiends’.

Stephie Drought – the ‘boss and brains’ of the operation, Stephie runs the ship looking after all media dealings, promo material, press releases, schedules and looking after our touring artists. As if she isn’t busy enough in her day job as a PA within the higher end of the corporate world, Stephie somehow manages to make it look easy and puts the rest to shame with her organisational skills.

Joel Garvey – is a jet-setting audio visual technician working in Australia, Africa, Middle East and Europe on a number of high profile gigs. He is also Ampt’s resident ‘jack of all trades’ and although specialising in sound, he also works with all things video, creates our posters and a good portion of graphics and looks after the majority of the ‘Krishna Kuts’ bookings/promoting.

Dave Fiala – is Ampt’s chief animator and the fourth of the founders. Dave currently lives over in London but is responsible for almost all of the animations used for our visuals and the earlier posters. Dave is a self taught animating guru who has spent a good time in both Australia and the UK working within the TV industry, specialising in character animation.

Brad Vernon – is the chief lighting programmer within the Ampt team – he has learnt his skills via working for one of Australia’s most progressive and innovative production companies. He brings to the team great level of skill and professional ‘know-how’.

Rachel Huber – instigator of the ‘Krishna Kuts’ series, theming organiser and always there helping behind the scenes. Rach is a professional copywriter, trained journalist and communications graduate and assists with much of the copy, artist interviews and proofreading for proposals..

Ampt Friends

Dave Da Silva – Dave is the third member of the schoolyard dope fiends and the only DJ that has played all of the ‘Phunk You’ parties. Dave has been DJing forever – and has now ventured into the world of production and playing ‘live’

Orinoko + Valli – the Melt/Liquidbass honchos are a constant source of advice and information – they also play at many of our parties and are often left at the end of the night boxing up gear and rolling cables.

Drop – Scotty Walker and Mag00 – Mr Walker is our favourite warmup DJ and is personally requested by Meat Katie and Lee Coombs, g00 is one of Brisbane’s best and we look forward to each time he graces the decks.

Logic events – Mike Redfern, Fergus Alexander and BPM have enjoyed a healthy relationship with Ampt since becoming their first clients (albeit under a different name) over 6 years ago. It’s thanks to Logic that Ampt has had the ability to work with a number of the high profile international acts

Sidechain Music – the newly formed agency/promoting force is a long time friend and has assisted with many of our early press releases and dealing.

Also to Naomi Ham, Tim Evans, Nick Devine, Kurt Howard, Doc Jurrott, Jason Organ, Jason Rafto – all of whom’s help has been invaluable, most of the time for little or no reward................

Industry Testimonials

AMPT are like the MacGyvers of the Brisbane club scene - give them a roll of string, some Milo Tins and an empty room and they’ll transform it into a perfectly tuned musical playground. D-Ko relish playing through their systems, and Elements parties wouldn’t be the same without their lighting and decor skills.
